IYDC BACKGROUND

In an era defined by rapid technological advancement, the landscape of global connectivity has been transformed. The emergence of innovative AI tools, including ChatGPT, has ushered in a new wave of possibilities and challenges. As society navigates the complexities of this digital age, ensuring the safety and empowerment of its youngest members becomes paramount.

Against this backdrop, the International Youth Development Conference (IYDC) 2024 convenes under the theme " Digital Citizenship – Health, Safety and Communication." Building upon the momentum of previous conferences, this gathering serves as a platform for diverse stakeholders to deliberate on critical issues shaping the digital experiences of today's youth.

Reflecting on the successes and learnings of past endeavors, IYDC 2024 aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among education institutions, governmental bodies, businesses, and civil society organizations. By harnessing collective insights and expertise, participants will explore strategies to empower youth as responsible digital citizens while mitigating the risks associated with online engagement.

In a world where technological innovation outpaces regulatory frameworks, the conference seeks to address pertinent questions surrounding digital literacy, privacy rights, cyberbullying, and the ethical use of AI-driven technologies. Through interactive sessions, workshops, and keynote addresses, delegates will delve into actionable solutions that promote a safe and inclusive online environment for all.

IYDC OBJECTIVES

  1. To explore and showcase the latest advancements in AI technology, including its applications and potential impact on various aspects of society.
  2. To create a dynamic platform for students and young participants to engage in discussions, share innovative ideas, and collaborate on exploring the capabilities and limitations of AI, particularly focusing on GPT-like models.
  3. To examine the multifaceted challenges and opportunities presented by the rapid integration of AI into everyday life, spanning issues such as digital privacy, cybersecurity, misinformation, and the digital divide.
